Astrology on Wikipedia

Where to start but at Wikipedia? Its section on astrology is quite elaborate and authoritative. I don't agree with all of it, but the standard is as high as can be expected.

AstroDienst — free horoscopes

A big website where they offer free horoscopes online — both daily ones and complete charts.

Astrohelper — horoscope calculator

A simple and easy to use calculator for your horoscope chart. Completely free.

Astrolog — free astrology program

A very resourceful and competent astrology program — totally free. It can calculate horoscopes for the distant past and future, among many other things. A treasure.

AstroWorld — horoscope software

An excellent and easy to use software, calculating and printing charts, et cetera. It is not free, but not that very expensive.

The Mars effect

Michel Gauquelin researched an astrological Mars effect on lots of people, and made discoveries that were furiously debated. Here's a history of the controversy, with links to further reading. Science is never objective.

WinStar — horoscope software

WinStar by Matrix was already in the days of DOS programs immensely resourceful. It remains so in Windows. I guess it can do anything you want of it. But it is not cheap.

Ivan Wilhelm — Swedish astrologer

Astrology on Google

Search the word astrology on the Google search engine. Over 96 million hits when I tried last (a few of years ago it was two million), so you may need to narrow it down with additional search words. The search word horoscope brings almost 140 million hits...

Update, June 4, 2013: The above numbers are a couple of years old. When I tried Google today, 'astrology' brought 89 million hits and 'horoscope' 96 million. That's a 7% decrease for the former and a 31% decrease for the latter. Probably it has more to do with Google cleaning its search results, than a shrinking web productivity. Google also regards astrology and horoscope as synonyms, so their search results tend to blend.

Update, February 13, 2017: 'Astrology' brought 92 million hits and 'horoscope' 79 million. So, strangely the former has had a minor increase, while the latter continues to decrease. Now, astrology is even in the lead. I bet it has to do with Google cleaning its search results. There are lots of spam-like horoscope sites, due to the search word still by far being the most popular one.

Google Trends is a tool showing the change of popularity in search words through time. Above is the graph for astrology and horoscope from 2004 to the present. It shows a slow decline of searches for astrology, whereas horoscope has grown since 2008, though not the last few years. There's a peak for every New Year, when lots of people check their horoscope forecast for the coming year.
