Kamala Harris's horoscope for the 2024 presidential electionShe is unlikely to win, but she can move on from losing
I go into detail below, but first a look at her birth chart.
The Kite in Kamala Harris’s birth chartThe Kamala Harris horoscope is astrologically trustworthy since her birth certificate is made public, thereby also her birth time down to the minute: October 20, 1964, at 9:28 PM in Oakland, California.
In Kamala’s horoscope the opposition connects the moon in Aries and the 11th House to the conjunct sun and Mercury in the fifth House (the sun in Libra and Mercury in Scorpio). The moon indicates an eagerness to make a difference in the world and be recognized for it. But the sun in Libra shows that Kamala personally really prefers calm and order in her life, wheras Mercury in Scorpio shows that she is quite fond of talking in riddles and being rather secretive. She is good at communicating, though wary not to say too much. Kamala’s skill to communicate is also shown by her Ascendant and Moon Node conjunction, in a trine to her sun. She is perceived as talkative, maybe even whimsical, although she is weighing her words carefully. In the 9th House, Kamala has retrograde Saturn in conjunction with her MC, the former in Aquarius and the latter in Pisces. Saturn indicates that her duties are mainly of an intellectual nature and she is reluctant to accept them. Her MC shows that she thinks of herself as a searcher, somewhat unsure of what for. They form a trine to Mercury and the sun, explaining why she has those hesitations. Simply, she has doubts that make her reluctant to express herself clearly. Their trine to the Ascendant and the Moon Node show that she successfully hides her uncertainty behind a lighthearted attitude and humor. The moon’s sextiles to both these corners of the kite make her control her temper and hide her ambition. In a way, the whole kite is about control, about balancing her behavior and restraining her impulses. Mainly, her moon at the end of Aries is what needs to be held back.
Outside the KiteAlmost as remarkable as the kite in Kamala’s horoscope is the conjunction of the three planets Venus, Pluto, and Uranus in Virgo and the 3rd House. It makes her fascinating but also quite demanding to her friends. She wants and needs a stable group of friends, but they have to pass her scrutiny and live up to her expectations. That process can be dramatic and leads to sudden changes in her group of friends, but those who pass the test enjoy her company. What she most of all wants from her friends is to learn and become wiser. The conjunction has but one aspect, and it is to Neptune in Scorpio and the 5th House, which also has just this aspect. This shows that with her friends her vivid imagination gets wings. She is inspired by them and it is mutual. Because of this. Her friends are very important to her. Their company might be what she cherishes the most.
Mars is in Leo and the 2nd House, showing that she has a strong will and perseverance, especially when it comes to watching out for herself. And she gets more strong-willed by age. Retrograde Jupiter in Taurus at the very end of the eleventh House reveals that her success in public life comes late and is not as prominent as she had hoped. She tends not to reach the top, but a position where she is respected and able to remain for long. The square between those planets shows her frustration. She wants more and wants it quicker. Mars also has a sextile to the Ascendant and Moon Node in Gemini. That gives her the power to control how other people see her, which is like someone more easygoing than she actually is.
The Democratic ConventionThe Democratic Convention is into its third day as I write this. Kamala Harris’s horoscope is rather insignificant at this date, except for one aspect: transit Saturn in Pisces is forming an opposition to her triple conjunction in Virgo and the 3rd House.
Transit Saturn shows that she shoulders new responsibilities that confuse and worry her, and the opposition to the planets in her 3rd House indicates that it affects her friendships negatively. She may even lose some of them, and others are at least aggravated. Considering that many of her friends are likely to be fellow democrats, her popularity in the party risks being severed. It is hard to win the presidency that way, but not impossible. Regardless, it creates disappointment – also in her. Another significant aspect is transit Uranus conjunct her Jupiter in Taurus at the very end of her 11th House. Uranus moves so slowly through the Zodiac, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event. And it lasts even longer than the Saturn transit. It began in mid-June and continues until mid-March 2025. Uranus brings insights and intellectual progress. One could call it attained wisdom. Conjunct Kamala’s Jupiter at the very end of the 11th House, it shows that she learns from the disappointment of not reaching the goal she reached for in her public life. March next year, she might decide to leave public life altogether, having experienced its drawbacks. Still it must be said that the two important transit events could be seen as signs that her life changes as profoundly as it would by winning the presidency. If so, though, it would not make her happy. The success would be a bitter one. That might be true for most presidents.
The ElectionAt the date of the presidential election in November there are remarkably few transit aspects in Kamala Harris’s horoscope. The two main aspects from the Democratic Convention remain – the opposition between transit Saturn in Pisces and the triple conjunction of Venus, Pluto, and Uranus in Virgo, and the conjunction of transit Uranus and natal Jupiter in Taurus. The effects of those aspects have been described above.
The 2nd House is about personal resources, both material ones and personal capacities. In Leo, the latter are more notable. Here, Mars indicates that Kamala’s competence and authority is challenged, but she may very well manage through it. Mars is just half of a degree from the cusp of Leo, which is a strengthened position. So, she is ready for battle. On the other hand, the square to conjunct sun and Mercury in the 5th House shows that she is disturbed by the challenge, having her abilities questioned and being forced to speak frankly to defend her opinions. She would really prefer to have more of a background role, acting on her own terms. The strength of transit Mars’ position suggests that she is victorious, but the square to her sun and Mercury indicate the opposite. Whatever the outcome, it is costly for her and she won’t enjoy it. There are no other aspects than the ones mentioned above that may hint at winning the election. Considering the vast importance of it, there should be more in case of her victory. Regardless of outcome, this presidential election is certainly a major event in Kamala’s life, which explains transit Saturn’s opposition to her trio of planets in Virgo, as well as the conjunction of transit Uranus and natal Jupiter at the end of the 11th House. The troubles indicated by both these aspects and the transit Mars square suggest that she loses – or that it feels like a loss to her even if she wins. To Kamala Harris, this is a costly venture.
The Electoral CollegeThe presidential election is really decided by the Electoral College on December 17, since the outcome can contradict the popular vote. That was how Hillary Clinton lost in 2016. And the horoscope for Kamala Harris on this date is sinister. Except for the transit Uranus and natal Jupiter conjunction, all its aspects are negative – squares and oppositions. That’s as rare as it is ominous.
Transit Jupiter in Gemini and the 12th House has a square to the three natal planets in Virgo in the 3rd House. The 12th House is about sacrifice and Jupiter is about success, so none of the latter on this date. Jupiter is in retrograde, which makes it even weaker. This is not Kamala’s lucky day, especially when it comes to her friendships. Are fellow democrats abandoning her in this time of need? A more dire aspect is transit Pluto’s square to her natal Mercury. Pluto is the planet of drastic and lasting change, for better or for worse. It has been lurking in and around a square aspect to Kamala’s sun and Mercury conjunction for a long time, starting already in the beginning of March 2022, and it will continue until November 2025. So, it is not an aspect dealing solely with the presidential election, but it is a significant ingredient all through it. Pluto moves within the 8th House the whole period, but shifts back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius, due to its retrograde movements. The 8th House is about fate, things happening over which we have no control at all but affect us considerably. Pluto there can be quite drastic and life-changing – or even life-ending. But at the time of the Electoral College Kamala’s Pluto square is with Mercury, which is hardly fatal. It indicates that events beyond her control – such as the Electorate’s role in the election process – interfere with her ability to convince or even influence. She has no say, and it frustrates her. She has argued for another outcome, to no avail. It may trigger her to be provocative, even hostile, which can only make things worse. This aspect could easily be seen as showing that she loses the presidential race at the Electoral College vote, but hardly that it would somehow indicate a victory there. Transit Uranus over her Jupiter shows that she learns something profound about public life, but it disappoints her. Overall, the many negative aspects make her victory unlikely, and there is no clear sign of the opposite.
The InaugurationOn Inauguration Day the sun joins transit Pluto in its square to Kamala Harris’s natal Mercury, and Venus joins Saturn in its opposition to the three planets in her 3rd House. This doesn’t change much, but it softens the blow for Kamala. She may find that she has gotten over her disappointment with the election process.
Transit Mercury in her 7th House has a trine to the trio of planets in the 3rd House, which shows that now she can spend time with her partner and friends, which is something she appreciates. There is also a sextile between transit Mars right by the end of her 1st House and natal Jupiter at the end of the 11th House. Mars is retrograde, so it has recently left the 2nd House and continues further into the 1st House, which is in Cancer. This suggests that she gains personal strength, but not without effort. The sextile to Jupiter shows that she is still irritated by her insufficient success at public life, and she has to assert herself against people who tend to dismiss her because of it. So, it’s not the horoscope of a victorious contestant to the throne, but it’s not one of a miserable outcome, either. Kamala Harris will do fine outside the limelight.
